Purpose / Mission:
Our mission is to serve the students at our center, and in our community, on their unique, individual paths towards Yoga.
Acknowledgements:
We are eternally grateful to all our teachers for guiding us on the path of Yoga and helping us to get in touch with our true selves.
Sattva:
In Sanskrit, the ancient language of Yoga, Sattva means “essence”. The essence of all beings is their spirit / consciousness. All classes at our center are essentially a spiritual quest through the practice of asanas (poses), chants, and meditation. Sattva is also one of the three "Gunas" or attributes of material nature, and represents purity, luminosity, and equanimity.
Yoga:
Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word “Yuj” which means to yoke. Yoga is the union of the individual soul with the Universal Consciousness. A person who is in a state of Yoga sees all beings as the same. This is a state of equanimity, unconditional love, and infinite compassion.
